Rainy Season Storm-Prep Checklist
Every year, we walk properties right before the rain starts, and every year, the same things get missed: a downspout that empties four inches from the foundation, a sump pump nobody's tested since last winter, a section of grading nobody's looked at in years.
None of it is complicated to fix. It's just easy to forget about until the first storm makes it impossible to ignore.
This storm-prep checklist is the one we hand off before rain season begins. Six systems, worked through in an afternoon, covering everything from drainage to emergency readiness — so nothing gets missed while the ground is still dry and vendors still have room on their schedule.

What's Inside
Drainage & Water Management — storm drains, French drains, gutters, downspouts, sump pumps, and grading
Roof & Exterior Envelope — roof condition, flashing, seals, dry rot, stucco, and paint
Landscaping & Grounds — tree risk, erosion, irrigation, and slope around hardscapes
Backup Power & Emergency Systems — generators, battery backup, and backup pumps
Interior Systems — HVAC, water heater, leak-prone areas, and detectors
Emergency Readiness — supplies, documents, and insurance coverage

Why Timing Matters
Complete this 4–6 weeks before your region's rain season begins. Once storms start, vendors book up fast and emergency rates kick in — a gutter clearing that costs $200 in October can mean $10,000 or more in water damage by January if it's left alone.
